We are really excited to now have a series of club member activity dashboards available to club members to visualise their amateur radio activities in real time. There has been extensive work in writing Python scripts for data gathering from various sources collated in a time-series database in order to render in these fantastic Grafana dashboards.
The XLX reflector dashboard has been useful to prove to the club that the reflector is being used on a regular basis and is also invaluable to assist in the running of the current daily “lockdown” net at 0900z. Feedback from members has been extremely positive.
Members that are active in CW have complimented us on the RBN spot dashboard which gives an instant visual on their CW activities. It also gives the CW “rookies” a place to hunt down club members for them to try and listen out for.
It has been an enjoyable task, putting it all together, encouraged by the feedback from members who have been giving their input throughout. These dashboards will be enhanced and the coverage broadened over the coming weeks and months – providing interesting insights into the activities of club members and the use of the facilities provided by the club.
